Today, as a follow-up, I am covering verse 26. Here servanthood promises a curious thing – an omnipresence for us human folk. Let’s think about this.
John 12:25-27 KVJ
25: He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
26: If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
27: Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.
Jesus says that we are to follow Him if we serve Him. Okay, we can wrap our heads around the idea of literally walking after Jesus even if the idea of following Jesus seems crazy overwhelming. You with me? Now, this next part is where things get interesting. Jesus says, “Where I am, there shall also my servant be.” That servant is you and me. Jesus doesn’t just live in Heaven now, He lives in our hearts, he’s multi-dimensional, he’s omnipresent. Where He is, we are also. So, you see, we have been given the ability to move between dimensions through the torn veil and blood of Jesus to enter into the Heavenly realm and bring the Kingdom of God to Earth. Yes, there’s so much more to it than this but this is simply the declaration that Jesus makes in just one verse. Wherever He is, we are also. I John 4:13 confirms this with This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. In addition, the second part of verse 26 is a conditional promise that says if we serve Jesus (Yeshua Hamashiach) then Father God (Yahweh) will honour us. What wonderful promises that make living this life a little easier!
